Ashoka Lion now provides multiple methods to pay rent utilizing our strategic partners to streamline the time and effort that it takes our Houston and Dallas area tenants to pay their rent in a timely basis. With our rent payment systems, you do not have to wait to have a property manager come to pick up your rent, risk losing rent by mailing in your rental payment, or waste time and money driving to the bank to deposit your rent to our banking center.
Through our tenant portals, tenants can pay their rent payment through their bank account for a fee (please reference our "Online Payment Setup Form" in tenant portal for fee and stipulations). NOTE: Fee is subject to change. Note: The payment portal through your tenant portal requires a bank account.
Additionally, through our partnership with PayLease, you now have additional tools to pay rent using a credit/debit card. If you are not by a computer, then you can call PayLease’s contact number and make payments over the phone with one of their trained staff. With all these tools available to tenants, there is no reason that rental payments cannot be made in a timely manner.

How do I sign up?
Making Payment via E-Check options from your bank account:
The tenant portal that can be found on the side menu where you found this link to pay rent online, and there is a menu item labeled “Tenant Portal”. You click there, and tenants will log in. To log in, a tenant must provide our management company a valid e-mail address. If you have indicated this to our staff, then we will send you a “Welcome Email” that will have your log in information. Your user name is your email account, and your temporary password should be in the “Welcome Email”. Once you log in the system, you can change the password to one that is easier to remember. Your tenant portal is the place where you will see your tenant ledger, copies of documents, make repair requests, and learn about important announcements.
Once in your tenant portal, you will find a menu labeled “Payments”, and you will find a button to pay your rent. You will be taken to a screen where you enter in your account information and amount. Making payments through the tenant portal is a free privilege provided to our tenants.
NOTE: If a payment is reversed out due to lack of funds, then you will be charged the fees outlined in your lease. If you do have a history of making rental payments that bounce or have insufficient funds, then we do reserve the right to remove your tenant access to using this rental payment system. However, you can still make payment online through the PayLease system and pay the transaction cost for the E-Check transaction. For instruction on how to register for the PayLease system follow the same procedure as outlined in “Making Rental Payments via Credit Card or over the Phone”.
Making Payment via Credit Card or over the phone:
In order to sign up to make payments via credit card or over the phone, please go and click on the “Click to Pay Now” button on this page. It will ask you to enter in the address for which you are making payments for and then will link you to that property in the system. Once you are logged in, select ‘Make Payment’ to make a payment. When you are logged on, you can put in the amount of money that you will be paying under the appropriate categories, for example Lease Payment, so it is appropriately accounted for. In addition, you should always indicate in the notes on if you are paying for other items such as repair deductibles, late fees, fines, etc.
How does PayLease work?
Once you are a member of PayLease, you can go to our site and make payments to Ashoka Lion with either a credit card, a debit from your checking account using the online portal, or you can call into have rent payments taken over the phone with the PayLease staff. Standard processing takes 2-3 business days for a payment to process to your Property Manager. If you select “ExpressPay”, your payment will be processed for next business day deposit. Ashoka Lion is notified of a prospective tenant’s payment initiation date and time. Please note that business days include Monday-Friday excluding weekends and holidays. It is important to remember these processing times when making a payment ON TIME.
Is there a contract or can I cancel at any time?
With PayLease there is no contract. PayLease is an option for you to make your payments easier. If you opt to be a member of PayLease and still send in a paper check, you will not incur any monthly fees for not using the service. Fees are incurred only when you process a payment.
